Frequently Asked Questions
How many games is the season and when does it start/end?
The regular season schedule for the 2026 season will be 14 regular season games. Opening Day this year is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, March 1st. A double elimination playoff format will follow and typically ends before July.
When are games played?
In 2026, the 15 game schedule will be primarily played on Sundays with some games during the week. Rainout make-ups will be made up at the of the regular schedule or during the upcoming weeks after the rain out if possible. We do not play on holiday weekends unless coaches agree to play.
Does it cost money to play?
Yes. We are a self-supported league. Fees go towards Umpires, Fields, Baseballs, Insurance, Awards and even this Website. Fees for the 2026 spring season will be $250 per player and can be paid through Venmo to the "ChasMensBaseball" Venmo username. Teams take care of their own uniforms and equipment.
I haven't played in a while. How competitive is the league?
We are competitive but our league consists of a wide range of age and skill levels. Current players range from age 38 to 75 years of age with experience levels ranging from ex-professionals to no previous organized baseball experience. Although every team will be trying to win, "Having Fun is Goal Number One".
What do I need to play?
All you need is a glove, a pair of spikes/cleats, a good attitude, and the desire to play baseball. Your coach will coordinate uniforms.
How fast is the pitching?
In the CMBL you will see speeds as low as 50 MPH to the occasional 70-80 MPH or slightly higher.
What positions are most in demand?
All positions are in demand but there seems to be a particular need for those who can pitch.
How do I get on a team?
Each year, an open workout is held giving managers a chance to place players where they are most needed.. If you miss this date, there are always teams in need of players so we can still get you on one that needs you. Just email us at Chasmensbaseball@gmail.com and we will get you on a team quickly.
